It's not unusual for these two values to be so far apart -- but, usually
when they are, it's the GH that's higher. As the KH is actually part of the
GH, it would seem the the GH should be higher than 3 dGH, as it obviously
contains hardening elements. Be glad that your KH is this high though.
Yes, the dKH only applies to the KH test. Yes the last column (GH/KH)
applies to both tests.
You may recall, that I gave you the numbers for telling how hard or soft
the water is. Your GH at 3 dehrees is quiye soft, while your KH is moderate
in buffering capacity, and more than adequate to hold your pH under the
influences of an average biomass.
The Nitrate is far from the acceptable max, and will be lowered back near
20 with your next PWC. Not to be concerned about, but it does show that your
Nitrite-consuming bacteria are converting larger amounts of Nitrite and
becoming more established in its cycle.
